"The Refuge is a transitional housing program. It is designed to assist homeless individuals and families that reside in Lapeer County and who are ready, willing and able to transition out of homelessness. The program's overall objective is for residents to become self-sufficient, and maintain secure income and safe housing. This is accomplished through onsite resources as well as through collaboration with other agencies.
Eligible residents may stay up to 6 months.
The Refuge is a non-profit faith based ministry operated by a board of directors and run by volunteers from area churches and individuals throughout Lapeer County."
MISSION
"Our program has a two part mission: (1) to provide the Good News of Jesus Christ which we believe is the single most important thing needed to make any personal change that matters, (2) provide emergency and transitional housing to homeless individuals and families while providing services to help them regain independence."
.
VISION
"The Refuge will provide housing, food, clothing, educational and/or vocational training, basic life skills, and spiritual guidance. We want to be a stepping stone to help those experiencing homelessness regain independence. The Refuge will accomplish this in partnership with volunteers from the community and through the coordination of services available from churches, agencies, and others programs."
Romans 13:8
